ABOUT THE GUEST:
Hunter Lee Hughes began acting when he was cast in a low-budget horror film at age 12 in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Acting roles include ‘Bobby’ in the 25th anniversary production of Thomas Babe’s A Prayer for my Daughter (directed by Dorothy Lyman), ‘Frank Colby’ in the television pilot Project: X (directed by Starling Price) and, most recently, the lead role of ‘Evan’ in the film Narcissist (directed by Eric Casaccio). Hunter has also appeared in a number of Fatelink projects, including Fate of the Monarchs, The Sermons of John Bradley, Winner Takes All, Dumbass Filmmakers! and the upcoming feature film Guys Reading Poems.
Hunter’s produced writing credits include two plays, Fate of the Monarchs (“Critic’s Pick”, Backstage West) and The Sermons of John Bradley. The darkly comic Winner Takes All screened at ten film festivals before being distributed on the shorts collection Black Briefs. Other produced material includes the narrative comedy webseries Dumbass Filmmakers! and On Common Grounds, a documentary he co-wrote (Hallmark Channel). Hunter is a published poet, with two of his poems appearing in the upcoming Guys Reading Poems. He’s now developing several narrative feature screenplays, including Inside-Out, Outside-In, which had its first staged reading in 2013. Hunter served for 8 years as a story analyst for Paramount Classics/Vantage and five years as the writing assistant to acclaimed screenwriter Mardik Martin (co-writer, Mean Streets and Raging Bull).
Hunter is currently in post-production on his feature film directorial debut, Guys Reading Poems.
He got his start as a director on the 68-minute narrative comedy webseries Dumbass Filmmakers! The series won four awards at L.A. WebFest, including “Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series.”
